Offering Prayers Of Confession
Part 2 - Isaiah 6:1-7 (ESV) - Pastor Tim Kroeker
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Judah and all Jerusalem were at the height of economic prosperity, military might, and political peace. They had not seen such success since David and his son Solomon. Then King Uzziah died. It was at this unsettling time that the prophet Isaiah had a vision of the Lord, the true King. It was actually He who sat on the throne. Peace and prosperity had lulled the people into a spiritual slumber, supposing all was well. But when Isaiah saw the Lord in all of His majesty, he became woefully aware of how short he and the people had fallen. Therefore, he confessed his sin, providing us a guide for our own life of prayer. After praising God for who He is, we confess to God who we are.
