Living in Obedience to the Divine Call

Part 3 - Jonah 3 (ESV) - Pastor Tim Kroeker

Romans 10:14

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”

After the Lord’s dramatic intervention, Jonah was more receptive to hearing His voice. So, God commissioned Jonah a second time, telling him to go to Nineveh and deliver the message that He would give him. Jonah obeyed, clearly and courageously communicating God’s word. News spread quickly and in Jonah chapter 3 we read about one of the greatest revivals ever recorded. Perhaps you’ve lamented the moral decline in our own nation or wondered why it seems the church is losing ground. There is power in the gospel. Jonah reminds us that when prophets obediently preach, sinners humbly repent, and God compassionately forgives.
