At PassageWay, we're inviting you to discover what God has chosen to say to us through the passages of the Bible, and then to respond in faith to live that way, as we rely on Him together. By God's grace we are endeavoring to live life, the passage-way; above & beyond the mere human way. In short we are calling people to place their faith in Jesus as their only hope for Heaven, and then discover the new life He offers until that day comes.
The most meaningful and life-changing things we can know about God, and what it means to follow Him come down to us through His Word in the passages of Scripture. The way we respond to those passages will define our very lives. Early on in the Bible we are told that the most important thing we are to do is “… love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways,” (Deuteronomy 30:16). In Isaiah 55:9 we are told, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” So from the beginning, the Bible makes it clear that we are to love God by walking in His ways, but that those ways are far beyond us. So how do we walk in His ways, if they are beyond us? That is where Jesus comes in. Jesus taught us in John 14:6 that He is The Way, and promised that anyone who believes He is the only way to the Father will have eternal life (cf. John 3:16) because He died and rose again to bring us God’s forgiveness simply through faith in Him and His payment for our sin.
When Jesus called His first disciples, He said, “Follow me,” (Matt. 9:9) and invited them into a new way of life; a way that was far above and beyond what they had ever known. Daily, they followed Jesus “on the way” (Mark 9:33) and learned to live a life of faith. When Christianity was brand new, not knowing what to call it, many simply referred to it as, “The Way”, (Acts 24:14, 22) because Jesus called Himself this, & those who believed in Jesus lived in such a way that it impacted everyone they came into contact with. In Mark 10:32 we read, “They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and they were amazed…” Why amazed? Because His ways are higher than our ways, and He leads us in that way to do His will.
